The horror is that agencies claiming to be acting on behalf of us are the ones perpetrating a great deal of the terror.

I agree whole-heartedly with your remarks. Humans have that tendency to be ego-centric and when you combine it with nationalism, I think we tend to overlook that so many others suffer too.
