The slash is *technically* canon-compliant, too. It disregards Midnight Sun, and it assumes the same reaction to male/male sex that was actually prevalent in the time period (that having sex with another man was not "sex") as the explanation for Edward's comment to Bella that he is a virgin, but other than that, it will leave Edward and Carlisle in exactly the relationship they are in in the canon.

It's all good. I don't expect that this will be everyone's piece of cake (or many people's really). It's going to really be a tough read, because Carlisle ends up really being a predator in this fic. It's not at all how I usually write. (And, in what I'm learning is apparently an uncommon reaction, I don't get offended when even people who regularly read and enjoy my writing say, "This one's not for me.)
