Sometimes the life-situation of someone you know seem so overwhelmingly horrible that it just gives an incredible sadness. This is beautifully written and I'm certain that anyone seeing this will know that you care deeply. I know that feeling of helplessness when you wish you could wave some magic wand from afar and take away pain and hurt and somehow make things right for someone you care about.

When I expressed similar but not so eloquent sentiments to a dear friend in Australia who was going through a tough time in her marriage, she wrote back to me, sending me a small verse to show that I didn't need to "do" or say anything - just knowing that I was there somewhere thinking about her was something that helped bring light into her day.
