While firing rounds at the butterfly swarms, I tried to understand. Even with the abate of the swarm, I have yet to reach understanding.

How does one determine one's sexual orientation?

You like who you like. If you like the opposite sex, you're heterosexual. If you like the same sex, you're homosexual.

If you like both, you're bi. Athrun-- it's not rocket science. :/

That's what happened to me in the early days until one day got in the sack with a dude when I wasn't shitfaced and that's how I knew I was bi.

That all happened way before gettin turned into a vampire....really isn't anything wrong with being human and being bi.
