Hermione piled herself out of her parent's car; in a fit of parental involvement, they had decided to drive her to the Burrow on their way on holiday into the countryside. Her parents heaved themselves out of the car after her, unpacking her trunk from the back of the car while asking various questions like they had for the last six hours of driving. School trunk in tow, she stretched her legs as her parents gave her kind farewells. She smiled, pecking both of them on the cheek. Her parents gave her rather worried expressions.
"Would you like us to take you to the front door, dear?"
"No, mother, it's okay thank you." she offered her mother a hopeful smile, just knowing what was coming next- her mother didn't ask questions- she told people what was going to happen and then phrased it like they had a say in the matter.
"Darling, I think it's best- it's the polite thing to do, meeting the people you'll be staying with."
Hermione blushed, mumbling an agreeance under her breath as she followed her parents to the front door, a rather violent shade of scarlet. Her father knocked on the front door sharply as the wood made a slight groan under the pressure, Hermione hiding herself behind her parents, wondering why they were taking interest in their daughter and who she stayed with after all of this time, when she just wanted to settle down with a cup of Mrs. Weasley's tea and a good conversation with Ron.
