Uh...Sigur Ros are playing in Chicago in September. I was hoping I'd have a job and be all moneyed up before this event occured...Wade needs to see them live, as it's one of the most incredible life experiences, ever.

Dammit. Damn you, gay Icelanders.

Their new album is beautiful, btw.

In other news, I'm getting some sun. I am riding my bike ( Read more... )

YES! I always try to explain that to people, but I just get weird looks. I saw them when they were touring for (), and it was the closest thing to a religious experience I've ever had.

Henry of course was like, "Yeah, it was alright." WTF???

It's seeing them live. Sure, their albums are beautifully astounding, but live...it's something else. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

I'm afraid I would just nod off. Sigur Ros have that effect on me.

I quite liked them a few years back, but when song after song basically seemed to be some guy interminably wailing "eeeeeeeewaaahhhhwaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh", I just kind of lost interest.

As said above, seeing them live changes everything. It's truly quite extraordinary, and I'm from a similar music background to you - raw, not fancypants mood music. It's a shame it's so expensive to see them, otherwise I'd hope to change your mind on it.

Oh, I can quite like fancypants mood music. But I just found Sigur Ros to be a one-way ticket to snoresville. A very pleasant trip, though.

Isn't only one of them (the frontman) gay? They're not quite a Gay Band in the Scissor Sisters sense.

Yessss, hon, I know it's only Jonesy *laughing*. However, this is my journal, and it's never been known to be strictly serious 100% factual. I tend to flancy up my writing a tad, you know?

I know. I'm just checking if they've, by any chance, turned into Hercules and Love Affair Mk.2.

Yeah I think they'll be here in August. I really want to see Chris Rock, who'll be here around that time.

I actually don't mind Chris Rock. But I'd rather see Sigur Ros *grins*.
