Delicious wood fired pizza (calabrese; anchovies, green olives, tuna, mozarella, yum) tiramisu (the best, ever, MY GOD, Wade nearly wanked under the table - and Wade doesn't EVER wank under tables, in public), coffee, nicely sloshed on red organic wine (BYO, thank you), riding our bikes tipsy and happy. Getting home and walking about the community

I've been meaning to ask you - how are you getting by in Scotland? Are you going to get another job? Or is Sem a secret millionaire? And if so, will you both adopt me? How about you adopt me anyways?

Yep, I do get it. Simple happies are the best happies.

Things are going well in Scotland :-). While Sem isn't a secret millionaire (or if he is, it's still a secret!), I'm not getting another job just yet. For now I'm studying (not as much as I should) for my 'Life in the UK' test that I have to take, and I'll be taking driving lessons to learn the UK rules and roads and driving backwards cars on the wrong side of the road (even though legally I can drive on my international drivers license for a year, at the end of it they'll still require me to take a test). Beyond that, once I figure out which end is up, I'm going to try this writing thing. Whether I can actually do that for a living remains to be seen... but wouldn't *that* be something?

We could adopt you (and Wade) anyway, though. Except you're enjoying Chicago so much! And there's not much in the way of... well... all the things you like about Chicago? Not to be found here. Hee!

(And yes, very happy - there'll no doubt be some less than great moments in the future, that's life, but I think the renewal of my independence - at the core - has really swung things about).
