Update on Gin...Kinda

I keep receiving calls (in response to the ads I have plastered around) where people leave voicemails like this;

"Uh, hi...I just saw your flyer for the missing cat at the (local coffee shop). I wanted to let you know that I was down (blah blah and blah) street, and saw a dead cat on the side of the road. It was really fluffy and white. I just ( Read more... )

I've been following these posts and not knowing what to say. Everything I can think of sounds empty or insufficient. I just wanted you to know that I have all my bits crossed that Gin comes home with a whole bunch of war stories for you.

Thinking of you.

I appreciate that. I've been thinking about you, and your loss, too. I'm hoping that if I ever get back to Melbourne, you and I can be buddies - just like in Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

I'm just wondering if you're regretting bringing her to the states, over leaving her here etc -- to tell you not to. When I moved out of Fi and Grub's, they looked after the cats due to me not finding somewhere where they could stay, and they've looked after them ever since - and when I see them up at Macedon it's all good and well but they're not really mine anymore. Not having that owner minder/pet relationship is quite an empty feeling, I'm like a ghost to them. I don't mean to say it's anything like having a cat missing like this -- but you kept her with you and cared for her, made a decision about desexing her, and neither of those choices were wrong, desexed cats are shadows of their former selves. I wish you a speedy resolution to this situation and send you an e-cat headbutt. >:3 mew . xo (In other news I cut my face open the other weekend, riding around pissed, and now have an off-centre Harry Potter(c)(tm) scar. woo)

Yeah, I have considered if I should have left her in Australia, not least because her behaviour dramatically changed after her long flight (which I can image, for an already highly-strung cat, was a little traumatic). I know cats are generally adaptable, and at this point, I just hope she's happy wherever she is. I've had her for 8 years, and loved her for all of them, so I'm lucky in that sense.

I'm sorry you cut your noggin open, but at least you'll be able to score at wizard conventions now.
