Name: Dani Houston
Fandom or Original Character: Fandom OC, Push
Age: 23
Gender: Female

Appearance: Dani is a rather short girl, standing only 5’4”. She has long brown hair that she wears down most of the time, but she’ll also put it up in a ponytail when she wants to keep it out of her way. She also likes to hide behind it when she feels like she’s attracting more attention than she wants. Her eyes are brown, dark and usually looking around at people. She rarely looks anyone in the eyes, but when confronted she will.
She’s built like a runner, lean and with most of her muscles in her legs. She’s a bit tan from being outside a lot, but not overly so. She has no tattoos or scars. She generally wears jeans, t-shirts and her favorite leather jacket. She always has a large olive colored messenger bag with her.
Personality: Dani is a paranoid somewhat reclusive girl. She is overly cautious and suspicious of just about everyone she meets. It’s not that she doesn’t like people, it’s just that she has spent her life never knowing who might be a Division agent so she doesn’t trust easily. She would like to make friends and can get along with people though she’s frequently sarcastic and can make snide remarks. Under the right circumstances she can reach out and be a very caring friend.
Beneath the paranoia is a proto-geek. Dani likes math and science fiction. Her biggest passion is dancing. She loves musicals and going to clubs. Music and dancing are her escapes from the difficult life she lives. She is generally a resigned person and despite her powers doesn’t like to manipulate people. She tries to be as straight forward as possible. She does tend to act without thinking, something that she sees as useful though it may cause problems with everyone else.
Likes: Music, dancing, junk food, going for runs, gambling, math, science fiction.
Dislikes: Bullies, violence, long plane and train rides. She hates cold.
Unique Characteristics: Dani is a very skilled liar. It’s rare people will catch on to her lying.
Biography: When Dani was born her parents were already on the run. Her father was a Pusher who used to work for the government organization known as Division, but when he learned that Division was running experiments on its agents, he left along with a few other agents. While on the run he met a waitress and fell in love with her. Though it was dangerous the two got married and eventually had a daughter.
Dani has always lived her life on the run and her father started training her young on how to avoid Division and how to Push. She was only three when her father Pushed her for the first time. By the time she was five she could Push, break her father’s simple Pushers and make spontaneous decision to avoid Watchers. It was good she learned young because when she was eight Division caught up with her family. A Bleeder killed her mother and her father allowed himself to be captured so she could get away.
She ran straight to foster care, where she Pushed them into taking care of her. Every time Division caught up with her, Dani Pushed them into thinking they hadn’t found her and then Pushed her way into a new state and a new foster care system. At eighteen, she left the system for good and struck out on her own, using her abilities to get by.
She found that in Vegas and other gambling towns, Watchers had a harder time tracking her so Dani began to bounce around between Vegas, Reno and Atlantic City. She traveled between these cities randomly, but Vegas is the place she considers home. At twenty-three she continues this life just getting by and laying low.
She was just walking along one day when she spotted an egg just about to hatch. She had always liked animals and waited around to see what would hatch. It hatched into a blue fire lizard which she named Allegro. He’s been her constant companion ever since.
Arrival Post:
Dani woke up with a headache. She turned on her side and curled up, trying to hide from her aching head. She felt a little sympathy, a little worry from Allegro and lifted her arm so he could climb underneath and cuddle against her chest. She drifted, the pounding in her head slowly fading until it disappeared completely. She didn’t know how long she was asleep but eventually she felt well enough to open her eyes and promptly freaked out.
She wasn’t in her hotel room, she wasn’t in any hotel room she had ever seen before. The walls were stone, the furniture simple wood. She scrambled up and looked down at her bed with had furs on it. Allegro squeaked in panic and latched onto her neck. She dove down and there was her bag, right where she left it but this wasn’t the bed she had left it next to. Where the fuck was she?
“Ah, you’re awake then.” A man strolled in. He had a dragon on his shoulders too, but his was gold.
A life time of instinct kicked in and she tried to Push but she didn’t feel it. Whatever happened to her when she Pushed didn’t happen. She didn’t feel that click that meant she had control of a person. She tried again, but the man just smiled at her and poured her a drink from a clay jug.
“You’re probably very confused, but that’s okay, I’ll explain. The Wherhandlers found you and your fire lizard outside the Weyr last night. You just showed up here. Do you remember anything?”
“I… I went to bed.” She scooted back on the bed, pressing herself against the wall behind her.
He offered her the steaming mug. “Aye, that happens a lot here. Don’t worry, we’ll help you.”
