Wow, my mom sure does talk a lot. I mean, just because we're driving somewhere, and I happen to be reading a book, doesn't mean I want to hear about how you had your tires changed or how Ronnie was pretty bored while ordering the chicken. I don't need to know THAT much about your activities...

What makes this situation even more awkward is that she knows that her "idle conversations" annoy me, and that I think she talks just a bit too much.

And, whenever I do tell her about it, she gets really defensive and starts crying. Then I start to feel bad. It just makes the situation worse.

So yeah, I know she's trying to be nice and try to have a personal relationship with me and whatnot, but there's still that other level behind it. Yah know what I mean?
