you should try joining a community service group on your campus instead.. no offense to the missionary idea, by all means, but if you can help socialize yourself in uni with other peers through continued community service it's a whole lot better. the thing about one-time large commitments is the inability to feel the continual good.. try to find that group or whatever if you meet often you'll build up some pretty good friendships based on a beautiful thing, community service brings people together and if in university, where shit's tough already, you'll find some characters that will definitely relate to you
