If by "job" you mean actual employment, and not fried chicken or pizza food service, then I would suggest a temp agency.

In particular, I would suggest My Secretary, on Germantown Rd.

Pat placed me right away, and while the interview portion is a little weird (she's kind of candid, and it will catch you off-guard), she's nice and she gets everything done on time. You'll probably have to take a typing test (unless you say you can type more than 70 wpm and have at least one secretarial job under your belt...lol), but other than that, the application process is relatively simple.

Bring everything you would to a first day at a regular job...SS card, etc. Tell her I referred you, for shits and giggles. They get paid good money to place people, and I'm getting paid good money from them. It evens out.

So this place gets all my stats or whatever for job tasks, and tells other businesses they have people who can do stuff. Then said businesses hire who they want, right? Or did I just totally misunderstand that.

That about right.

Businesses have a contract with one or more temp agencies, and when they need someone to do a task, or if they're looking to hire someone on, but don't want to put out an ad for all the world to see, they'll contact the temp agency, and the agency will (in most bases) be able to provide someone that meets the specifications.

Sometimes the jobs are only slated for a few days (say a place is doing inventory, and just needs a couple of people to help enter in data or carry boxes), sometimes a few weeks (I'm slated to be here for 8 weeks), and sometimes they're temp-to-hire or direct hire, which are self-explainitory.

Make sense?

Ehh..I did the food thing when I was a senior in high school. I'm not sure I can put up with the mass public again.

But on the other side of the spectrum, that is an option. But it will most likely be my last, as I'd prefer to work during the day, rather than at night. That way I can still keep umping without conflicts.
