Oh of course, terrorists! Yes, terrorists are likely to be another useful go-to villain group. Probably break down based on what you want out of your antagonists; terrorists are useful for small-scale action scenes, while PMCs give you all the flash and action that only a full-scale military force can provide.

Oh, Syriana, Don't You Cry For Me... christinaathena December 30 2009, 21:42:28 UTC
Well, as any Chuck Norris film in the past five hundred years has taught us, ninjas and terrorists are a) the same thing, b) in no short supply, and c) easy to kill despite the job they were hired to do (which implies they have some training at neck-jabs and with AK47s, despite evidence to the contrary). I think you're closer to recognizing the dawn of a new era with the PMCs. What I'll be interested to see is how the build-up of coverage and exposure will warp and redefine public opinion on the matter.

Will they eventually become sympathetic, or will they continue unabated with their upward trajectory on the road to pure evil? Because, you know, the public grows tired of seeing things played the same way over and over. For every Delta Force 3 there's going to be a Syriana.
