401(k) expense ratios

It’s been years since I got to participate in a 401(k) retirement plan. Last time was when I worked at Expedia. I put the amount in that would maximize the employer contribution and didn’t pay much more attention ( Read more... )

I get a 401k through Vanguard. Oh, look, it's a bunch of index funds, plus an option to buy stocks in a brokerage account, where I buy... wait for it... a lot of exchange-traded funds.

The expense ratios for your blended funds suck, by the way. Wow. Such gouging. Much expense fees.

Very much they suck. I've set my contributions to go into the two index funds I have available. I wish they had an international index fund or two. There's a brokerage option as well, but I can't take advantage of it yet.

Eventually, Fidelity will let you open a brokerage fund, at which point... yeah, go for the ETFs.
