Ok, lots happening, but I'm just gonna focus on my one really awesome day yesterday....
so i finally realized the dream i've had since college - i got an arcade game! i won captain america and the avengers arcade game on ebay. the only issue - the guy that was selling it is is in kentucky. louisville, to be precise. nothing to do but head up there. so i borrowed my dad's truck, got judith, and away we went.
now, there were some recent events that helped convince jude to come along with me. her most favorite movie is elizabethtown, and we had just watched it about a week earlier. well, elizabethtown is on the way to louisville, so we were going to get to see the places from the movie, and be all sappy, like we always are. fun times.
the day started out early - we left my house around 6 am. per google maps, it was a little over 400 miles away. we drove, and drove, and drove; through chattanooga, nashville, then we stopped at elizabethtown around 11. or 12, maybe, i got confused by the central time zone. anyway, we found out that it turns out most of the movie wasn't actually shot in elizabethtown, so there wasn't a lot to really go to. we did get some fun shots in front of the sign though, and it was awesome just going through a small town in a different state. one thing we found; hollywood lies - there was no route 60B. sad.
we got to louisville around 12:30, and i got to eat at white castle for the first time! it tasted really good, about like krystal. my stomach disagreed, like it usually does. heh. anyway, we went to the guy's house, and loaded the truck up with the game. i finally had it! i was so happy. we couldn't just turn right around, though, so we decided to see some sights of louisville.
we drove in search of colonel sanders grave - another spot from elizabethtown. on the way, we passed through this really cool old area of town, and stopped at a vintage shop and comic book store. i got some cool toys, and jude got some records. yay for fun stores in new towns! we then made it to the cemetary, saw the grave of the colonel. i know it sounds weird, but it was our cheesyness.
after we got done with louisville, we stopped at this crazy flea market by the interstate, and then drove for a long time home. it doesn't sound like a lot, but the whole day took a while - we didn't get home until about midnight. so there was a lot of drive time in between all of that. i am so lucky to have Jude - we hung out, listened to music, and just enjoyed each others company the whole time. it should have felt like a long trip, but in the end, it was really short. the more time i spend with her, the more time i want to spend with her. i love how any day, even dumb things like this, can become such a great and memorable time.
