Outside Karla's door would be a bundle of packages. Some with her name on them, some with Warren's. While the person she'd been this weekend hadn't come prepared, Momoko's friends' birthday presents had been in her hotel room since her arrival Friday evening.

Not that she could tell anyone this, since she was currently off somewhere hiding. Tucked into the ribbon of one of the packages to Warren was a hastily scribbled note: "I'm so sorry. Love, M"

For Warren there is a book about being married to a queen, a box holding what looked like a couple yards of leather and rope and some ceramic balls, as well as a note that they were weapons and she would totally teach him out to use them.
