"Come onnnnn," Rinoa giggled, tugging on Squall's hand as they traipsed along through the rocks. "We'll find a quiet place and we'll watch the moonlight. Or we'll watch the stars. Or we'll huddle together for warmth. You're nice and warm, you know that?"
Maybe the Cove would have been better, or one of the beaches. Sand was more cozy to sit on than the rocks were, but the rocks had more of a romantic feel tonight. To her, anyway, and she was what mattered. Just ask her.
Of course, the real problem with the Peak was one that Rinoa discovered juuuuuuuuuuuust as she was turning to tip her face up to Squall's, which meant he should kiss her
( ... )
"See," Karla said, nudging Warren's ribs. "Rinoa has the right idea!"
She flung up a hand and waved to them both. "Kiss kiss!" she called, and there might have been a little more smirking in that greeting than there normally would. "Come join us! We have coffee and cider and it's for sharing!"
"Kiss, kiss back!" she yelled, waving her own hands. "Are you sure we're not interrupting your alooooooooooooone time?"
Sometimes, Rinoa was twelve. But hey. She and Squall got to live together (which was seriously awesome) and Karla and Warren had to live a few time zones and dimensions apart. She seriously didn't want to distract from anyone's booty call.
"I'm not sure if Warren thinks it's warm enough for aloooooooooooooone time!" Karla laughed, because why should only Rinoa get to be twelve. "And it looks like you two were getting closer to needing aloooooooooooooooone time anyway! You sure you wanna join us?"
Translation: There would be some minor property damage tonight, in the hotel, possibly with the heat cranked.
"Preparation for Glacia," Warren sighed, good and resigned to the fact that he was still feeling a bit of the chill. "Which I suppose is a good idea, considering I'm getting used to the weather in California and all..."
Not the greatest place to live, in retrospect, just before moving to a place with 'glacier' right there in the name.
"But I have you and I have coffee, so I can't really complain."
"I always miss you," Warren replied, smiling lightly as he folded her up in that big downy wing, and then wrapped the other around the both of them to make sure it was extra warm in there. "When I'm alone, when I'm in the middle of class, always."
That light smile turned into a slightly broader one, a crooked little grin, as he teased, "But then I remember that if I'm not a crybaby, apparently I'm a complainer, and I feel a little better about it all."
"And I am one of your Earthly saints to put up with you either way," Karla declared, shooting him a crooked grin right back. "Because I miss you all those times, too."

Laughing, she snuggled closer to him, claiming one of those big downy wings for her own.
"Did you miss me?"

Someone needed a check-in after a visit to El Paso.

Dinah would be able to hear giggling and a muffled "Oh so now you want to nibble my neck? Huh?!" before Karla came back to the phone again.
"Hi! Sorry about that. Warren--" giggle "--says hello."
