The cheering throng only grew louder as they crossed the bridge from Sidra to the grounds of the estate. There, they were met with people in servants' uniforms. But rather than stand against the crowd, they joined in. Their allegiance had long-since shifted, assuming it had ever belonged to the current regime at all.
It was a tidal wave of humanity; everyone wanted to see what would happen when the real Queen met up with the Court she was intending to replace.

Once more, Karla sat on her horse and waited. There was no way that Hobart and Ludmilla could afford to ignore her. If she really wanted, she could be through the door to the estate before anyone could stop her.
The question was, would they surrender peacefully, or would they force her army to fight their way through Karla's childhood home?

Dinah was watching the balcony, committing the face of the man she didn't know to memory, watching for assassins, wishing she was wearing her Karla-costume.... and listening for any reason to believe things were about to get violent.
The first thing Karla did upon entering her home was to turn to her Court and begin issuing orders.
"Escort Lady Ludmilla and Lord Hobart to their chambers," she said. "And shield their rooms. Try to find the rest of the Ruling Council and their pets before they flee like rats from a sinking ship. It's not even noon yet, folks. We've got a house to clean."
