Karla's Voicemail

According to the explanation I have received, you will now leave your voice on this machine. Maybe I'll even give it back when I'm done listening.

Kiss kiss.

Or you can just contact me on a distaff thread which will be much quicker than this bloody thing.

Hey so, alligator fighting? Also I'd like to discuss certain personal issues between Karla and Leda.

Well I'm sure you've noticed by now that Leda rather likes Karla. How do you think Karla would react if Leda asked her out?

It was interesting when I brought her in, as she's canonically bi (just a throwaway line really, but telling). And I was like "Okay, who's she gonna connect with enough to pursue? Boy or girl? Turned out to be a girl. Though Jon's running a close second.

First off, in canon, Karla like girls, too. So that's not a problem. The main question is if Karla's going to understand what Leda's asking. She doesn't see herself as a sexual creature or anything, so Leda's going to have to be VERY BLATANT (not that I see that as being a problem for her) if she wants Karla to realize that the invite for dinner is something more than just two friends going out for dinner, or something.

The problem is, right now she's also kind of scared of sex and romance. So, if Leda pushes too hard, Karla's going to get frightened off. But of everyone in school (other than Jon, too, possibly, and that thought is HILARIOUS), Leda's totally got the best chance.

"Hi, Karla. It's Ender. Unfortunately, I wound up gone for longer than I'd anticipated last night due to some strong headwinds. I'm sorry; would you be willing to settle for another raincheck? My schedule is wide open any day but Monday."

Let it not be said Ender hadn't learned a few things about non-military graces since his turn in Battle School.

"Hey Karla! What about that party we talked about? Sixth floor, Saturday? Maybe Sunday? Or do we need to give folks more notice?"

And once it happens, what do you say to Leda and Karla winding up in one of their rooms?

On Friday morning, Leto left a message to Karla.

"Karla, it's Leto. I have been invited to join Kate when she visits her family this weekend, and so I won't be able to meet you in the salle this afternoon. I hope you be able to make up for this." A pause. "That does not mean you can't practise on your own."

At some point on Christmas day, Karla might notice a phone message.

"Merry Christmas, Karla! I already got an awesome gift. I'll have to tell you about it when I get back... in the meantime? Do you know any spells to send someone across dimensions? Just... to anyone you want to see?

Gimme a call! And see you on Tuesday night, I think."

Not too long after Karla got the call, she called Dinah back.

"Merry Christmas! I'm glad you got your gift. Can't wait to see it. As for spells like you were asking about...no, I'm sorry, not really. I know how to do the spell that opens up the Gates between the Realms, but I don't think it's the same thing. Why Dinah? What's up? Gimme a call."

Calling back although her mun was insane and would crash soon, Dinah took a breath when Karla picked up, and said, "Jak's in trouble. And Portalocity is being no help at all. Also, hi."

"What kind of trouble?" Karla asked immediately, brushing aside the 'hi' with a wave of her hand, even if Dinah couldn't see it. "Portalocity isn't being helpful? How? Is it not getting you a portal somewhere? Here? Or Sand...something?"

Karla'd barely met Jak. She couldn't be help accountable for not remembering the name of his world.
