When she found out that Saetan had left, Anita got quickly overwhelmed with trying to comfort Jaenelle, trying to comfort her Eyrien boyfriend. And there were so many people in the room that she missed a chance to talk to Karla, but that doesn't mean she didn't want to.
It's probably why she'll show up in the doorway and lean against it quietly.
A knock.
"--- is it a bad time?"
Of course it's a bad time. All around. But that's what friends are for, right?
Karla lifts her head slowly and turns it even more so. This is a Karla Anita's never seen before, subdued and quiet and...still. "No," she says, finally. "It's...all right. I can't exactly just sit here forever."
"I could understand if you did," Anita replies quietly. "May I come in?"
She's going to take this slow. She didn't think Saetan's departure would hit Karla that hard, but then again... she has a niggling hunch that there's more going on than she knows.
"...yeah," she says, after a moment. "You can come in." She stands up, finally, looks over at the drawer where she tucked the things, and tries to stand up straighter. "I was just thinking...it's silly."
Sugar has no idea what has been going down - in fact, she's come to visit Karla because it's been a while, and it's nice and sunny. Her daughter is off playing with one of the many uncles she's adopted for herself, Cal is probably still playing night-dweller, and well...
She thought she'd invite her friend to a picnic. So yes, she has food in a basket on her arm, and she'll knock on the door politely.
After a moment, there is the sound of movement from behind the door, and it opens. The expression on Karla's face is - blank. Her eyes are empty, her mouth has settled into a relaxed position that means nothing, and there is something distant about her posture.
Then she smiles, and it's just sad. "Hello, Sugar," she says. She glances at the picnic basket and remembers, abruptly, the first picnic, when they first -
Karla blinks a little, but she is of course allowed, though she seems a little - out of it, a little confused. "--he's gone," she says, after a second, and saying it again seems to drive it home a little more. "He's just - gone."
Should Karla eventually get taken outside by her friends, maybe on the way back she'll come across the puck. A familiar face, one she's shared a stage with in the past, but not someone she's intimate with.
Nonetheless, Robin is not one to forget a pretty visage, so he'll pause in shuffling the cards he had in his hands, and give her a friendly greeting.
Karla startles a little at being greeted, still kind of - distant and drifting. She turns to look at him and finds a bit of a smile, though it's a surprisingly weak thing, strange on her bright and normally vivacious face.
She blinks at him a little, as though mildly confused by his question. "Going - no, not really. Just kind of - out." She tries to smile a bit more, makes herself focus. "How've you been?"
Small talk is never easy for her, and it seems more strained at the moment.
Gabrielle's alone when she knocks on Karla's door, she's left Aiden with Chaosti while she goes to see Karla. She wants to make sure that her friend is holding up all right, and she's been wondering if there's anything they can do to cheer everyone up a little. She knocks lightly on the door. "Karla?"
Karla has told a few people by now. It doesn't seem to be getting easier, though. Shouldn't it get easier?
"Come in," she says, softly. The window is open, and she is wondering if it might be best to move. This room is full of memories, even if they never shared it.

She might dump the basket somewhere to just -- hug her friend, if she's allowed.

"--it has been, hasn't it? Afternoon..."

"Yeah, you too," he replies. "Going somewhere?" She looks in a hurry. Or preoccupied. Or sad. Either way, he's trying to weasel her into conversation.
Just out of the goodness of his soul, he swears.

She turns around. It's probably clear that she's been crying.
