It feels a bit odd trying to put myself into the body of a nineteen year old boy from a harsh rural life, in his head, trying to feel what he felt and imagine what he thought of it all, but it is compelling. Not only Jack, but all the characters. I confess, I lean more heavily on the film (which I should by all rights be able to call "Oscar winning") when I gush forth my stream of consciousness impressions, because the visuals are so haunting. Every scene in it is indelibly recorded in my mind's eye.

I adore your idea of having Jake read this little burst. And what does it matter if we talk like slashers. At least we'll be able to understand one another. Your Jack icon looks as if were done by Van Gogh or one of his contemporaries. Or perhaps I'm a prententious ass?

well you did a great job. oscar winning is right, and what inspiration it stirs up in all of us. amazing... i agree about the visuals of the movie, and the emotion too. how can something that's affected us so much not serve to become an outlet for more love.

the slash lexicon,,, guh, ded, slay, heartshot, seems alien to me. but after reading comments on LJ i've become partial to some. i don't usually like "kills" or slay or ded.. but sometimes they're perfect for the mood.

LOL -- the icon is pic *ass* o, a favorite of mine.
