I find the character of Ennis to be funny and sad all at once, much like one of John Irving's heroes, like T.S. Garp for instance. I also think of Ennis as a sort of samurai, fierce, taciturn and unyielding on the surface, but beneath he is a man capable of appreciating the finer things, if only he would allow it.

Mmm-hmm.

You know, I really love first-person POV, and I like how you write it. It's never sentimental, and often it is humorous, and I like how you capture the lies that Ennis tells himself--or the secrets that he hides from himself.

Thank you.

I'm honored to have you read and comment on my blurtings. I feel quite sure that "blurtings" is not a legitimate word, though it ought to be, and as I am not exactly a legitimate author, perhaps I might be granted its use. I don't wish to gush, but frankly, to have a writer of your talent remark favorably is a big "up" for me. I've discovered J Dog and Daddy and couldn't be more enchanted.
