Glad to find this story. Your writing style is unique and I like it.

Loved that ending. I can see Jack strolling in and saying just those words - very Jack! Gotta say, though, I can't picture Ennis edging away and retreating from any fight - no matter how outnumbered. But it made for some fine drama.

. . . that I will never in my life be able to write so concisely, and tell such a vivid story in such deliciously minimalist fashion.

I'm reminded of Cassie's comment to Junior, in the film: "You don't say much, but you get your point across."
