Well, again you've taken elements of OS, and they've gone a different way. Ennis quitting his job to be with Jack, but not just for a few days but all the time. Earl a loner, not with Rich, ended up castrated, but the same effect on Ennis. Jack realizing the chasm, but not shying away this time afraid of losing Ennis but talking through it. And Ennis now accepting that they are different, not wanting to be alone and lonely for the rest of his life, so talking it through too and so they can be together always.
Yes, just a few words spoken rather than held back, acting rather than hesitating, can make a difference in one's life.
