Disclaimer: I don't even own a car. Google was my (probably very inaccurate) friend for this, but thanks for the prompt that got me writing for the first time since January :)

A screwdriver clanged to the garage floor, exchanged for a wrench as Tommy mumbled along with James Hetfield droning out of the mp3 player set high on a shelf out of the reach of wandering customers, visions of himself as a vengeful spirit a la John Wayne striding across wastelands to finish the bastards who killed someone he loved mingling with the scent of grease, fresh rubber, and motor oil.

"I fall 'cause I let go-- oh fuckitall," Tommy muttered as the throaty roar of a Mustang (yeah, he'd know that sound anywhere, as he did most cars, having had greasy hands practically since he could toddle) obliterated Low Man's Lyric, grinding to a halt beside the old, jacked-up Camaro that Tommy was rolled under

Scrubbing grimy fingers through his hair to push back his long blond fringe, he blinked up at the guy, who was looking around for a rag to wipe off the oil that had transferred onto his hand. Ha! That'd teach him to go grabbing for people like that

I don't mind if they get fucked-up. Seriously, you're saving my life here, so if I can help... even if I just pass stuff to you when you need it
