"Now, as you probably can tell with my constant drooling over Darren Criss and his hotness, I'm not gay. I'm kind far from it, actually. Yet, I'm all for people who are gay and would never deny them anything. I'm Christian, I'm from the South, and yet I am all for them. It's not my right to judge, and when talking with actual gay people, it seems like they are nicer than a lot of straight people, too. Nothing's wrong with them and I never would do anything mean against them."
This whole paragraph you have here rings true for me too. I watched the video, and I am sooo proud of these people. It gives me hope for the world. Thanks for posting this! =D ♥
:) They really are amazing people and I love that they actually stood up for the families instead of turning the other cheek. It's so wonderful :) You're welcome :)
Well at least they do the experiment in NY to see people reaction. I think it's pretty normal for people at NY react like that. It's pretty much a city looks like. *shrug*
That letter thing was what made me cry <3 That guy was so awesome to do that.
Yeah. It's that southern hospitality, I tell ya' ;D I'm just glad they did it to break the stereotype, because one of my biggest pet peeves in fics is when they have the southern families/Christians be homophobic. Because they aren't all like that. This just proves it :)
Wow, thank you so much for posting this. It did my heart a world of good today, especially the guy who wrote the letter.
I'm from the South too, and that stereotype really bothers me. Sure, there are some homophobic people, but the vast majority of people I know are not like that at all. A few months ago, a security guard in an upscale shopping center asked a lesbian couple to leave because they were holding hands. The incident caught the local news media's attention, and the response was overwhelming in support of the women.
