we scream in cathedrals, why cant it be beautiful?

There was this essay I read once by Stephen Beachy. It was called AIDS and the Apocalyptic Imagination. And this man discusses the life he and his partner lead with AIDS, knowing they wont live long and knowing that the pain will set in soon...how they hold each other knowing...its the saddest thing Ive ever read. But he doesnt want sympathy.
