I went to college right after high school, because it was what was expected of me. And at the time, I didn't even think to question it. But looking back now, I wish I had. I wish that I had taken a year or two between high school and college. I would have been more sure of myself, my grades would have been better and I wouldn't have wasted time floundering.
I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do. But know that the path that leads directly to college isn't the path for everyone. And just because you take a year or two off doesn't mean you'll never go to college.
Oh, if I'd had the option of not going to college (I am rather uselessly underage) I'd have done it. If you don't want to I really think you shouldn't; I haven't found it's worth the time or the money.
