i want to see stuart talking about lyrics! you must write a detailed post about it when you get back. have fun!

i'm going to the unskinny bop in london tonight with bunnyhug and nicecupoftea. it looks like the gay version of national pop league (was going to post that, but you're the only person on my flist who'd actually get the reference) - i can't wait!

That sounds amaaaaaaazing! I've been listening to Dolly Parton for the last 3 weeks continuously, and she is my kind of woman.

Have you ever heard of HDIF (How Does It Feel To Be Loved?), the london club that is pretty much the london npl? That sounds brilliant but I can never find anyone to go with.

I'll take my dictaphone ;) My supervisor has already expressed an interest. Have fun!

i've read about various npl-equivalents in london; there was track and field first, wasn't there? i think joe goes to them sometimes (he's all in a band now and stuff and is a london hipster, whereas i have so dropped out of the indie scene). i'm in london quite a lot at the moment, anyway - let me know if you're likely to be there and want to go out.

Joe a London hipster? That's oddly funny!

I'm only on the indie scene because of Michael. I don't really know much about what's been released in the last couple of years except for Saturday Looks Good to Me. Hell, I'm only just initiating myself into the Smiths!

HDIF sounds wicked, yeah we should get a group of busties together and make a night of it!

Sooo very jealous.

Saturday Looks Good To Me = From Ann Arbor = where I live. One or more of the members words/worked at Encore Records, this amazing jumble of records down on Liberty St. He has complimented me on my purchases a few times (unearthing a deep cut of Yo La Tengo's that apparantely ran under the sublime indie boys who work the place's noses. Bad grammar, but you get my point).

I would so love to hear Stuart discuss his lyrics - he should do a spoken word tour. I would totally let him sleep in my super-comfy bed.
