Concentrate and FocusI sat there, waiting and waiting. I counted the tiny holes on my shoes. Two hundred forty six on each. The carpet below my feet had 3,475 loops in each square foot. The lady behind the desk tapped her pen 25 times. Seven men, 4 women and 1 child entered the room. I had only been here 15 minutes

I can totally empathise with this. It's a really evocative piece of writing. Like your style - you should write more!

I love the way you use the detail in this, as you (or you protagonist) try to distract yourself from what's going to happen. I completely understand the sentiment of the alien inside, as well, but it still made me sad.
