The Right Way to Campaign

Oct 31, 2004 23:39

I went to Salem, Massachusetts yesterday (October 30th) and had an excellent time. Most significantly, my friends and I were walking past a normal-looking building, at night, when a ninja peered down from the roof and said, "Voote fohr John Karree! Voote fohr John Karree!"

I will.

How could anyone not vote for a candidate endorsed by ninjas? Especially if said ninjas might become angry if their candidate didn't win.

By the way, what did you call me about this morning?

I think I speed-dialed you by having my phone in my bag and leaning against it. :p

I think the absolute BEST is that there were people handing out political fliers instead of candy to kids on Halloween. Hysterical for three reasons:
1) Kids CANNOT VOTE.
2) Kids just want some fucking candy.
3) They probably went back and egged their houses later.

You bet your sexy ass they did! Unbelievable. Those are the kind of people I wish hellfire upon. Pawning their political beliefs on children. For shame.

I also heard of someone giving the kids religious pamphlets, so I suppose it could be worse.

I was in Salem yesterday (actual Halloween!), and I didn't see a ninja campaigner :(. I DID see a cute guy dressed as a Chippendale, and a hot man dressed as Jack Skellington.

We saw FIVE hot guys dressed as Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Space Ghost, and Superman...and we were thinking to ask if the real-life Flash and Green Lantern had a thing for each other (since apparently there's lots of gay innuendo in the comics?), but as we approached, they seemed to be very jock-straight. But we could be wrong.

Heck, if you're doing any Salem-esque trips, please let me know :)
