Character Name; Miles Edgeworth
Canon;
Ace AttorneyCanon Point; Post-Ace Attorney Investigations
Age; 26
House; The House of Odin. Miles' strengths lie in his sense of logic and his thinking skills, and his weapons are his arguments and his deductions. He is more than able to think quickly on his feet (which is something important for any lawyer) and does not arrive at conclusions until he has studied the evidence, connected the pertinent facts together, and inspected every suspicious-looking nook and cranny. In fact, he is very much a skeptic - someone who will not immediately believe anything if it does not come with irrefutable proof and a good explanation, especially if that "anything" is supernatural or simply strange by average human standards. A true and exemplary scholar in just about every aspect who doesn't back down from the quest of knowledge, there is no other house for Miles other than that of the chief god.
Power; Ice magic. Only because it goes great with his trademark frosty glare.
Personality; (Lifted and edited from

For four years, many defense attorneys feared the name Miles Edgeworth - a name synonymous with underhanded tactics such as faking evidence, twisting testimonies and withholding vital information. Add his imperious disposition, his relentless campaign for guilty verdicts and his overflowing hatred for crime, and you have a most formidable opponent in the courtroom, a man with extraordinary intellectual gifts who will pull the rug from under your feet shortly after you come to the conclusion that he is a courteous, if icy, gentleman. He always knows how to win a case, and has kept a spotless record ever since becoming a prosecutor at the age of 20. After all, putting criminals behind bars was the only thing that mattered. Ever since his father, the revered defense attorney Gregory Edgeworth, was murdered and the supposedly lone suspect was cleared of guilt, Miles deviated from his father's path and chose the exact opposite. He also started prosecuting partly to punish himself; because of a nightmare that haunted him for fifteen years. It was a nightmare of a murder...of accidental patricide.
But his life began to take another turn when he ran into his old friend. Phoenix Wright, then a rookie, proved to be more than a match for Miles, and this obstinate and determined defense attorney who believed in his clients demolished the prosecutor's perfect record - and stood by him when Miles found himself in the defendant's chair, accused of murder. He soon began to trust in Phoenix, who worked toward a complete acquittal and also uncovered the secrets of the DL-6 incident, in which Gregory had been killed and the possibility of Miles ending his father's life was demolished once and for all. Miles now reconsidered the road he had taken...the road to guilty verdict after guilty verdict. Confused and unsure, Miles would disappear after a case in which he and Phoenix managed to cooperate to prove the defendant's innocence, "choosing death".
The death would turn out to be merely the death of his former self, which had been molded by despair and revenge. Miles returned after a year as a new man after deciding that his job, as a prosecutor, was to expose the truth and work hand in hand with the defense. He was placed on the side of court that doubted people as part of the greater plan to discover the truth and come to the correct verdict. Perfection was the furthest thing in his mind now, and he began working more actively with others to secure justice.
But some things remained the same. Miles is still as sharp and as intimidating (though he usually doesn't mean it this time, he will utilize this tactic if he must) as ever, always managing to notice things some people don't. Despite his encounters with the world of spirit channeling, he maintains that he is a man of logic and science, skeptical to believe in such things like magical items that unveil secrets in people's hearts. He still considers evidence very important - but for different reasons; this time, for unlocking the truth. Though he doesn't show it, he is genuinely concerned for his comrades (most of the time) and will do what he can for them - but isn't so impulsive as to make snap decisions that will do more harm than good. However, he retains a proud streak and never takes mistakes lying down, especially when he believes that he made those mistakes and when they have a huge impact on the situation. He will wish he was stronger, because strong men don't faint and give in to their phobias during a huge earthquake, but what he doesn't realize is that he is already strong in so many other ways, especially when he faces witnesses and criminals inside and outside the courtroom.
And many characters agree that Miles remains formal and uptight as ever, not exactly a huge fan of fun, but if they knew him better, they would know that he has a hidden fanboy side, which is about as hidden as that more concerned side that wishes people weren't so impulsive. Despite this concern, his isolated upbringing and education following the DL-6 incident have given him little in the way of social interaction. He can be frank at times to the point of sounding a little hurtful (the truth hurts, really), and his piercing sarcasm is something to be reckoned with, but his intentions are noble and after "choosing death", he has finally understood the importance of teamwork. Of course, that doesn't mean he'll be partying hard after every court victory from now on or mingling with all the folks who pass him by.
Miles remains dedicated to his study of the law (it has been mentioned that he studies foreign legal systems and is often abroad, possibly either to further his additional education or for business matters; not only that, he claims to have prosecuted in other countries) and is determined to use it for the sake of the truth, and for the sake of others. Even if all hope seems lost and all his arguments have been rebutted, he will keep on trying to find that one nook or cranny he has yet to inspect, or that one angle he has yet to examine. He is not one to back down and throw in the towel. Because if he does, or if he commits one mistake in piecing all his information together, the truth will forever be lost.

Network Sample; [Miles looks into the screen, his forehead furrowed. His hands are folded on his desk...gingerly, as if the slightest movement would destroy everything close by - which would be his organizer, his pens, three books, and a chessboard. Actually, he was trying to keep his powers in check, having discovered not too long ago that he was blessed with a very icy touch. He could coat his entire table in frost right now if he wanted to...and to be quite honest, he would rather not have a frosty table.]
I have been to The Great Library several times since my arrival, and I have noticed something quite odd about its collection. While I have found many books pertaining to the legal systems of my world as well as others...there is nothing concerning that of Asgard.
[He frowns thoughtfully.]
In fact, I have yet to see any book at all about Asgard itself, which I find quite ironic. If we are to supposedly restore this city, should we not have access to as much information about it as possible? Yes, many of us are familiar with Norse mythology, but that will not be enough. It's equally important to arm oneself with not only training but also knowledge.
For now, I believe it would work to our advantage if we could compile everything we know so far about Asgard and archive them for everyone's benefit. Even if we have been segregated into different Houses at this point, all of us are still foreigners in unfamiliar territory, and if we work together, we may find the truth behind it all.
Log Sample; It couldn't be right. There had to be another explanation.
And yet, the temperature in the hall was comfortably warm. Or at least, it felt that way to Miles, who was still staring in shock at the glass goblet in his hand. The vessel now looked more like it was made of ice, with a thin layer of frost that began to drip slowly as the warmth started melting the prosecutor's accidental handiwork. At least the liquid inside had remained liquid.
It wasn't difficult to remember what had happened. He felt the need for a drink of water, and did indeed find the goblet and the water. While holding the glass, he thought of also getting some ice cubes...and that was when he first sensed something being pulled away from him, something cold and rough that had spread onto the goblet's surface, glinting in the light.
A human's normal body temperature was around 98 degrees Fahrenheit, wasn't it (or 37 degrees Celsius)? How could a human being freeze objects with a touch that was well above the freezing point, within the threshold where ice became water and usually stayed water?
He put the glass down on a nearby table, now more intent on unraveling the mysteries of this phenomenon than quenching his thirst. Miles had been told that he would possess a certain power. And as one of Odin's chosen, his ability would be magic. Of course, at first he had reacted with true skepticism, telling everyone else that this was all trickery, smoke and mirrors. All magic was...well, there was spirit channeling and the strange artifact that made him see locks on people's hearts, both of which showed no evidence of trickery, but...those were different. He had seen those several times, and though it pained him to admit it, they were indeed...neither smoke nor mirrors. In any case, Miles had lived in denial, investigating much of Asgard as he could to see whether it was real, or a particularly expensive and realistic theme park revolving around mythology that kidnapped customers. Although he soon learned that Asgard would indeed be his new home for a while, he was more hesitant to accept the existence of magic - more specifically, the existence of magic within him.
How had he been given such a power? Why was he granted power over ice, instead of fire, which seemed to be the only other option for those of the House of Odin? How did it work - or rather, how could he make it work?
Determined to find out, Miles reached out for a wooden chair, and imagined it covered completely in ice...and he focused his thoughts on nothing but freezing the chair. As his hand touched the backrest, frigid white rays fanned out from his fingers, engulfing the wooden ripples and turning brown into purest white. No ifs, ands or buts; in several seconds, the chair was frozen, just the way he had imagined it.
He still didn't know how he could do it, but now he knew that he just...could. For a moment that stretched out into what seemed like an hour, he just stood there, examining the goblet and the chair from a distance. Both covered in ice.
They say that once you eliminate the impossible, you are left with the truth. But this time, it seemed that the impossible...was indeed the truth.
