Last night was just choc-ful-o-weird dreams. First (well, the first I can remember anyways) I dreamt I had a kid. it was a total surprise to me when he showed up out of nowhere - sort of like he had been dropped off at my doorstep, but he wasn't. Supposedly I had gotten too friendly with this tan Japanese fellow and then out popped a baby, a boy, ( Read more... )

I had a crazy dream last night too! I have to prevent myself from falling asleep in the late afternoon when I come home from work because when I do I always have crazy dreams and wake up totally startled and disoriented and it's just no good. But I let it happen last night and I dreampt I'd been drugged and I kept trying to explain to my roommate, but was embarressed, and couldn't even hold my eyes open to look at him and I couldn't help but wonder if maybe he did the drugging, but suspected it was my other roommate. And then I was wearing a retainer and then the top and bottom retainers locked together and I couldn't get them out and that was an epic struggle, which I eventually won, and then promptly woke up and cursed myself for giving in to a later afternoon nap.

megan - NEVER take naps. maybe your odd drugged out dream was a premonition that someone is going to slip somehting into your drink.

And weird about the retainers. if I couldn't open my mouth i would FREAK OUT becuase I can't go for more than a few hours without eating...or talking.

I hate naps for hte main reason that they make me more tired than before I take them.

oh yeah - and how's life? it's been like forever and I have absolutely no idea what you've been up to ...so... bring me up to date - and pronto missy.

Yes, naps totally make me more tired! Let's see...I got a new job in August. I'm a receptionist at a non-profit in NYC called Nontraditional Employment for Women. We train women to do blue collar construction work, which pays and has better benefits than most work women without college degrees can do, but is difficult for women to break into. There are pluses and minuses to the job, but it's ok for now and it's a decent paycheck. I also moved out, but not far. I have 2 roommates I'll probably never be very good friends with, but it's a very nice place with parking, laundry, and plenty of space for us to not be on top of each other. It's the second and third floors of a fully renovated old victorian house. It's technically in Scott's neighborhood, about a 5-10 minute walk in fact. We have a futon in the living room and also a very comfy couch in a little officy type room w/ a tv. Thus, ideal accomodations for out of town visitors, wink wink. And TWO FULL BATHROOMS! I wish I could get a cat, but no pets allowed, which might be good ( ... )
