I did, and I'm having a similar problem. :/ For starters, I was only barely keeping up with the daily word count anyway, but after I gave my computer to the shop last weeks I couldn't write anything those nights and then after I got it back I had real trouble getting back into the swing of it again. I managed to get a little written yesterday, and hopefully I can continue that and start writing daily again, but I agonise/edit a lot as I write too. - I completely understand the 'Should I use "said"?' thing. I find the actual dialogue between characters easy to write but the words complementing it take me ages to get down.
But since I hadn't written anything for so long I'm pleased that this has got me writing again, even though I think a lot of it is poor and needs even more editing. *sigh* Hopefully it will be helpful for you too!
Well, hello fellow crazy person! (Who is in your icon, btw?)
It's so hard, isn't it? My goal is no longer to write 550 words a day, but around 1700 every three days. So far I'm sort of keeping up, but it feels like such a chore sometimes! I'm afraid this may turn out to be like my attempt at NaNo (I wrote about 3000 words before I quit). Pfft.
Are you faring better? =) What's your word tally and morale column like?
My icon's of Betty Draper (played by January Jones) of Mad Men!
It is! It was feeling like a bit of a chore for me as well just trying to force myself to write so I took another bit of a break for a few days but today I sat down for an hour and wrote a 1000 words which has me pleased! My total words are about 9300 (300 per day) which isn't great when the goal was 16000+ but after so many days of slacking that's something. I haven't been filling my moral column (at first because I wasn't sure what to write in it and then because for about half of last month my moral was down) but I'm going to start from tomorrow. Now that I'm feeling rejuvenated my new goal/plan is to forget about Mondays and Thursdays as those are busy ones for me but to write at least 550 on the other weekdays and more on weekends.
What's your word tally and moral column like now? Are you thinking about trying NaNo again this year (or are you keeping track without NaNo)? - Out of curiosity, what did you write for NaNo?
Ooh, Mad Men! I've been meaning to watch that, but I'm so behind on tv lately. (Funny, was never so concerned about being behind on school.......) Is the show any good? I thought it was the blonde girl from Dawson's Creek in your icon, actually. You know the one who goes out with Pacey? Can't remember her name
