damn that hurts. it's so finely-crafted a story that I hurt along with Nikki - even going "wait, Larry? what?" at one scene.

well, my idea wouldn't have worked...(thank you, though)....as the Nikki magnet seems to be wanting to run away from the Liz magnet, even though physics draws them together.

*sigh* I can so see Nikki doing this. That's so much part of what makes her so fascinating, that she is hiding so much of herself behind that tough, brash exterior.

Nikki is definitely a very interesting character, it's always intriguing when you get to learn more about her, or see how she reacts to certain things or people.

You just want to shake Nikki and tell her to stop being so stubborn because her and Liz would be really great together. You've written them beautifully. A wonderful fic.

(I'm also entertained that you and I were both writing philosophy and chose titles dealing with proximity: Near You Always & You're a Million Miles too Close... random, but that's how my brain works.) :)

Nikki broke my heart while writing this. She's hurting, and if she just stopped being so stubborn then she could truly be happy (and experience love) for a change.

That's awesome, great minds think alike I guess, ;). Something I noticed about the writeoff so far was that out of the five fics that were already posted, three of them include "you" or "you're" in the title in some way, :)

Oh, god, my stomach was in a knot by the end of this fic! Ouch. This was really cleverly written, they way you touched upon it and built it up and kept things unspoken in the fic the same way Nikki keeps them unspoken. I also loved the "anti-climactic" line, and your gorgeous use of the Emerson quote. Very nice job!
