Due to legal difficulties, my wedding has been postponed.

I'm very sorry to hear that you will have to continue to wait to have your relationship with your partner legalized. On the other hand, as far as reasons to postpone a wedding, I'd much rather hear that one than some of the other options out there.

It will all come together, and you will be a joyous family, with or without paperwork :-) Much love!

I agree with everything that's already been said. And reiterate what I said to your fiance, which is that the wedding will happen eventually, it WILL be awesome, and we'll all be cheering you down the aisle!
