Nilo a friend of mine did these in PINK yes pink and made pairs for her two little daughters also. She posted a pic of the three pink, lacy feminine feet. Was really cute.
That is a very pretty sock! I'm just thinking....mebbe I could knit them in a thicker ply, but with reduced sts and back 'em with leather on the bottoms for bus socks... Hmmm.
It would work Dir, but an even better pattern might be the Yukon Leaves pattern. Not so open, so warmer. If you want the pattern for this pair let me know and I will send it to you. There is some really nice Opal and Regia 6 ply sock yarn out there. They make the warmest winter socks. And you can toss them in the wash. I walk around in my socks all the time. The things just wash up like a dream, so I never bothered with the leather feet. It is a very pretty pattern, very stretchy though cause of the lacey bits. Thanks ladies :) If you look at my knitting blog, you will see more socks. Because as Angus said I am besotted with them :D
If the sock is too big, I usually sew leather bottoms on them for slippers for Christmas (the rest of the family has big feet.)
What type of heel and toe do you use? I have (for the last few years) been substituting the Dutch heel and the Star toe from Folk Socks for all others and find this works well.
I know how to knit although it's been years since I've done any. And I love socks, even in So Cal. My feet are always cold. I've never knitted sock, only sweaters. I should give it a try. :) All the things you posted are great. Although that little "Bubby" for some reason makes me think of the little stuffed animal Mr Bean owns. :D
