Went and saw the student production of Peter Shaffer's Amadeus this evening. A seat opened opened up only at the last minute. I think the actors playing Salieri and Mozart have the potential for futures in theatre, especially Salieri. I'm now following up the experience with a listening of Mozart's Requiem.

The "dies irae" part always scares me.

Back in middle school, we sang a watered down (SAB) setting of the Dies Irae for District Chorus which lacked some of the fire of the orginal. I suppose part of the reason was that the guy's adult voices were only starting to come in; that vulnerablility showed in places of that year's recording.

As for me, I still got to sing soprano. :)
