For what it's worth, I still think about you occasionally, despite having a brief-ish amount of interaction and it saddens me no one showed to celebrate your existence.

The "silver lining" is that you now have a stronger bond with those ten or so people.

The ten penny wisdom being that; rarely do things work out the way we plan, and the magic moments aren't at anyone's beckon call. We stress ourselves all out about having a BIG event, but really those that NEED to be there will always be in attendance.

that sort of happened to me on my last birthday, except a lot of people did show up and yet had no idea that the party was for my birthday. everyone just drank all of my alcohol, ate all of my food, a couple people threw up on my back patio, and most had left by midnight.

cheer up babe, go get an awesome tattoo and play guitar hero to your big heart's content.

I read this and felt terrible I didn't attend.

Like I said, I'll make it up to you if I can with a night of laughter and booze and fun times. If it makes you feel any better, last birthday I had I decided I would tell people all night because strangely I was at another silly warehouse party and didn't know anyone. And the people from work I took out on their birthdays did not share the same sentiments when mine rolled around.

Anyway, you're awesome. And go get an awesome tattoo to match. :)
