When I was 12 I was taking riding lessons and one day this 5 year old girl (it was a mixed age group) got bucked off the horse but her foot was caught in the stirrup and he ran and dragged her and repeatedly kicked her in the head. And when the horse finally stopped and her foot came loose, she sat up and her face was completely covered in blood. She lived and ended up with only stitches but I wasso scared after that I quit. Her mom also made her ride again.
The story is beautifully descriptive, glad to see the writer's block has left you, it fails to leave me. I didn't know you had a "myspace"? Somebody was asking me to get one, but the site didn't seem to appealing?
That poor boy, what a terrible way to die. He was cheated out of life, but i suppose he died doing what he loves.

Damn fine bit of writing, both characters were all too believable, heh. A good bit of introduction too, packs a punch and makes them both memorable. w00t for loss of writers block, now just tell me how you did it so I can do the same.
That sucks about the jockey, nobody expects death like that out of no where, especially when it happens to young people. I hope his family will be ok, that's a hell of a blow.

Oh man, that sucks too. Man, I wonder what her mother was thinking? I mean, sure you have to get back on when you've fallen off but man...
