3 One Tree Hill tutorials;;

OK so a couple people have asked me about my One Tree Hill colouring and seeing as I have absolutly NOTHING to do I've put three tutorials together.

all made in PS CS2 » using colour balance, colour fill, curves and selective colour » first two not translatable. the third is translatable.



Notes before starting: Remember, the amount of screen layers and opacities, and sharpness all depend on your base image. If your base image is sharp and clear and bright you may not need to sharpen it or add any screen layers.
and these are meant to be as a guide. Don't go copying exactly.
ONE more thing: Remember: These tuts dont work for all caps or pictures!
And now onto the tuts :))

Tutorial #1: This Is How a Heart Breaks

•Start off with your base. Duplicate it 2 times and set them both to screen. I also sharpened the top screen layer. If the sharp is, well, too sharp, fade it by going Ctrl+Shift+F.
•Now make a brightness/contrast adjustment layer. B: -12 C:+15
•Color Fill. #F5DBDB. colour burn 40% opacity.
•Color Fill. #C9B18B. soft light
•Color Fill. #DFFFF5. colour burn
•Make a colour balance adjustment layer.
Midtones: +18, -8, -22
Shadows: +4, +5, +8
Highlights: -17, 0, +32
•Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer. B: -6 C: +15
•Selective Colour adjustment layer.
REDS: +41, +13, -21, -20
NEUTRALS: -7, -8, -5, +12
BLACKS: -8, 0, +2, -3
•Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer. B: +2 C:+3

Tutorial #2: Stranger In Her Skin

•Start off with your base. Duplicate it 4 times. Set them all to screen. Sharpen the top layer. Go back to any of the layers except the sharpened layer and set it to 20% opacity.
•Make a curves adjustment layer.
RGB: 161:184, 97:102
RED: 200:206, 77:41
GREEN: 3:2
BLUE: 176:182, 109:115
it should look like this
set this layer to 96% opacity.
•Selective Colour adjustment layer.
REDS: 0, +23, +31, -41
YELLOWS: -100, +39, +100, 0
NEUTRALS: +18, +4, +17, 0
BLACKS: -9, -5, 0, +9
set this layer to 70% opacity
•Colour Balance adjustment layer.
Midtones: -21, 0, 30
Shadows: -14, +8, +14
Hightlights: 0, +6, +10
•Selective Colour adjustment layer
WHITES: -24, 0, -18, -30
NEUTRALS: +6, 0, -10, 0
•Color Fill. #12050. Exclusion
•Colour Balance adjustment layer.
Midtones: +12, 0, -16
Shadows: -1, -4, -2
•Selective Colour adjustment layer
REDS: +16, 0, -21, 0
CYANS: -74, +11, +49, 0
BLUES: -46, 0, +9, -5
NEUTRALS: -8, +2, +10, 0

Tutorial #3: Take Me As I Am

»

•Start off with your base. Duplicate it 3 times and set them all to screen. Sharpen the top screen layer and set the bottom screen layer to 58% opacity.
•Curves adjustment layer.
RGB: 220:190, 199:203, 82:91
RED: 96:46, 68:33
it should look like this
set this layer to soft light
•Color fill. #1B0C02. Exclusion
•Color Balance adjustment layer
Midtones: +22, -2, +11
Shadows: +13, +6, +22
•Color Balance adjustment layer
Midtones: -30, 0, +38
Shadows: -20, 0, +12
set this layer to 50% opacity
•Color Balance adjustment layer
Midtones: -11, 0, -3
Shadows: +15, 0, +13
