< Act 2-11 >
-Twilight Valley-
Levin: Um... So, Your Highness... You really aren't "Your Highness" at all, huh?
Clarissa: ...
Clarissa: I suppose it wouldn't matter how much I apologized now... You'll probably never forgive me.
Levin: ...
Clarissa: Felius...
Felius: Yeah.
Clarissa: ...
Clarissa: I can't bear to see my lies snowball any further... So please, hear me out.
Clarissa: ...
Clarissa: I'm not any sort of princess at all. The only reason I came to Elesius was to chase down Rupert Dandridge.
Ragnar: So how did you end up impersonating Princess Alexia? Surely you wouldn't do something like that without some sort of reason...
[The screen shows a sepia version of the illustration that was shown at Creedmore Prison, when Clarissa took off her hat to show her hair.]
Clarissa: ...The Martial Guard had imprisoned some villagers, and I was so caught up in trying to save them that I told them a lie. That's where it started...
[Clarissa keeps her gaze fixed on the ground.]
Clarissa: ...
Clarissa: The only ones who knew that I wasn't the real princess were Labyrinthia and Felius, who had been traveling with me from the start...
Clarissa: ...
Clarissa: I can never apologize enough for what I've done... I know that...
Levin: ...
Levin: To be honest, I'm just in shock... I'm still trying to make sense of it all...
Levin: ...
Levin: I guess this means that Princess Alexia really did pass away a year ago after all, huh...?
Clarissa: Levin...
[Levin turns and frowns.]
Levin: But...that isn't even the most shocking part of this...!
Levin: ...
[Levin's shoulders untense.]
Levin: I...I think I want to be alone for a little while... I need to think this through...
Levin: ...
-Council Chamber-
[The woman in black arrives in the room, pushing a robed man in a wheelchair.]
Charlton: At last...
Strange Man in Wheelchair: ...
Woman in Black: ...
Rupert: Whoa, hey, hey... What the hell is this?
Rupert: When did the Council Chamber turn into such a freak show?
Weisheit: A similar question may have crossed my mind, but I suspect neither you nor I are in a position to verbalize it.
Rupert: You think they're trying to say that you and I can't get things done as well as a girl and some gimp?
Strange Man in Wheelchair: ...
Woman in Black: "The Zortroa Kinship stands before you."
Woman in Black: "As a representative of the Kinship, I, Piedras Blancas, submit myself to the presence of the Chairman of the Elesius Council of Elder Statesmen, Charlton Blunt."
Piedras: ...
Woman in Black: And I am Chelle, the implement through which Zortroa Chieftain Piedras Blancas communicates.
Rupert: The implement through which he communicates...? But that bandage-wrapped freak hasn't even said a word to her...
Weisheit: So it would seem. But since those two appear to have no difficulty understand each other, does it really matter?
Charlton: You're late. Perhaps you've been formulating excuses for your failure?
[Piedras wheezes silently.]
Piedras: ...
Chelle: Piedras Blancas responds thusly:
Chelle: "No matter the cost in the blood of our brethren, I swear that we shall destroy Chevalet Blanc, and scatter the corpses of its members as food for the beasts."
[Charlton smirks.]
Charlton: So I should hope. Even a beast can accomplish the task it has been given.
Piedras: ...
Chelle: "Upon completion of our task, we will expect you to honor your own promise as well."
Chelle: "Do not forget this, Charlton Blunt. Granting the long-held wish of the Zortroa Kinship is a far heavier matter than you realize."
Charlton: ...
Rupert: These two are creeping me out... I've been to funerals that were more fun. Who the hell are they?
Weisheit: They said they were of the Zortroa Kinship, did they not? I've heard of them.
Weisheit: They are loathsome abominations who, though birthed as humans, bind their wills to monsters in order to control them.
Weisheit: Better known as monster-tamers, they seek employment as mercenaries wherever the land is ravaged by war.
[On the world map, the path from Elensia to Twilight Valley is disconnected. A link now forms to Lefas Corner, marked with a yellow !.]
(Shop)
Smiling Lady: Oh my, what a rare treat up here in the mountains to have so many customers! Welcome to Lefas Corner.
Smiling Lady (Talk): We don't get many visitors up here in the mountains. News of the outside world is scarce.
From what I hear, it seems things are quite turbulent within the kingdom. Isn't it true the Martial Guard has been getting more powerful?
Happily, they haven't made it to our village yet...
---
Farmer Returning from the Fields: The history of Lefas Corner goes back over a thousand years, all the way back to the founding of Elesius.
Back then, Lefas Corner was built as a citadel to protect the old capital. But after they moved the capital to Elensia, most of the people moved with it.
These days we're a proud farming village with rolling fields and strong values! I like it better this way.
---
Upset Young Man (yellow !): Hey, did you guys hear the news? I can hardly believe it, but they say King Hrathnir was killed by a rebel...
Whoever it was, they must be a pretty terrible person to have stolen the life of such a fair and great king.
First Queen Adelia and Princess Alexia, and now King Hrathnir... I feel so sorry for Princess Katrina, left all alone...
(Synth. Shop)
Matthew the Forger: I may be holed up in the mountains, but my skill's greater than any of those amateur forgers down in the capital! I'll forge whatever you'd like in a jiffy!
Matthew the Forger (Talk): The weather's so nice today, and I got some great sleep, so I may just see if I can fit some work into my schedule.
---
Matthew's Assistant: My master originally set up his shop in the royal capital...
But he only works when he feels like it, so it wasn't long before he got hustled out by a rival shop. Next thing I knew, we ended up out here in the boonies.
I mean, it's not so bad. The air smells great and the food's delicious. I just miss the hustle and bustle of the capital every now and then.
---
Troubled Villager: The bridge that spanned valley to the west has collapsed yet again.
The kingdom was kind enough to give us the bridge since they don't need it for war anymore, but some idiots think it's funny to drop it every now and then...
And what's worse, the only person who can fix the bridge is the forger here in Lefas Corner...
And this guy never does any work unless he happens to feel like it... *sigh*
(Pub)
Bookworm Barkeep: This is a village removed from the normal flow of time... You need never feel rushed in Lefas Corner. Take things slow and stay as long as you like.
Bookworm Barkeep (Talk): I try to eat a lot when I'm feeling blue.
All the calories fill me up with energy, and the gloomy feelings go on their gloomy little way!
---
Olaus the Drifter: They say that the eldest princess appeared int he capital. Everyone said she'd died...
Thanks to her, the capital's turning into a battlefield. It's gotta be tough for the people who live there...
---
Ragnar: I see... So you were posing as Princess Alexia until now...
Then it makes sense that you wouldn't know about ARMs...
(Shrine)
Shrine Priestess: Ever since the other day, something's felt strange in the shrine. Is this a sign from the Guardians...?
Perhaps it's an omen of coming misfortune? Or maybe something bad has already happened?
---
Levin (yellow !): ...Ah... ...Princess...?
...
...No, my mistake...
[Clarissa stands outside, gazing at the ground.]
Clarissa: Perhaps it is time for me to leave Elesius...
Felius: ...
Clarissa: I hate the thought of feeling from the damage that I've done...
Clarissa: But because of me, people who do not deserve to be hurt are being hurt...
Clarissa: And no matter how good my reasons, it doesn't change the fact that the one who killed King Hrathnir...was me.
Felius: You intend to leave Elesius without reclaiming Iskender Bey?
Clarissa: ...
Felius: All right. If that's what you want to do, then I will go with you.
Clarissa: Felius...?
Felius: I will protect you, as I swore.
Felius: If there's anything you want to do, I will accompany you.
Clarissa: Anything...that I want to do?
Felius: That's right. My vow to protect you is a vow to protect your aspirations.
Clarissa: ...
Felius: ...
[The player regains control.]
(Shrine)
Shrine Priestess: Is something troubling you, my children? If there is anything with which I migth help, please don't hesitate to tell me.
---
Levin: ...
...I just need a little more time to think...
(Shop):
Upset Young Man: I just got a letter from a friend who lives in Hanigar. Apparently, the Chevalet Blanc liberation army saved the town!
"Chevalet Blanc" was also the name of the group of knights who saved the first princess medium and founded the nation of Elesius, wasn't it?
Don't you think it's a little pretentious to adopt a name like that? But anyway, they saved my friend. I'm extremely thankful.
---
Farmer Returning from the Fields (yellow !): I hear the Martial Guard's been using their authority to do some pretty horrible things...
Now that King Hrathnir's gone, who will stop them? With the Council of Elder Statesmen running things, we're probably all screwed...
I don't know much about them, but I've heard the liberation army of Chevalet Blanc is fighting against the Council... I'll certainly give them my support.
(Synth. Shop)
Matthew the Forger (Talk): Don't be so humble. There's nothing wrong with doing what you want, are your own pace.
At least you'll be making one person happy.
And if people get happy when they see that you're happy, you're not being selfish anymore, are you?
(Pub)
Olaus the Drifter: I hear that if you head towards the south desert from this village, you'll find the old royal capital of Elesius.
I think it's called something like...Schnell, I think?
Anyway, they say that its ruins have remained untouched ever since the capital was moved to its current location in Elensia.
---
Ragnar (yellow !): I thought hat I could trust you, which is why I helped you out. So what are you planning to do about our agreement?
[Clarissa meets Felius outside; this time she's looking at him instead of the ground.]
Clarissa: ...I'm sorry, Felius.
Clarissa: I was looking at everything wrong, and I let it get me down.
Clarissa: But this is no time to sulk, after all.
Felius: So you figured out what you want to do?
Clarissa: ...
[She smiles.]
Clarissa: Yes. It's what I should do, it's what I want to do... And it's probably something that only I can do.
Felius: Then what should I do?
Clarissa: I want you to come with me.
Clarissa: I'll probably get all mopey again someday, but as long as you're by my side, I won't ever lose sight of what I need to do.
[Felius smiles.]
Felius: ...
Clarissa: Thank you, Felius. But you know...sometime I'd like to help you accomplish one of your dreams, too.
[He loses his smile.]
Felius: One of...my dreams?
Clarissa: That's right! You're always helping me achieve the things that I want, but surely you want things too?
Felius: ...
Clarissa: ...
[He closes his eyes.]
Felius: ...
Clarissa: Hey, you don't need to get all serious on me! Just, you know, something you've always wanted to do or whatever. Easy, right?
Felius: ...I don't really...
[She pouts.]
Clarissa: Don't be a bore! You must want something... I know you do!
Felius: Is that so...?
Clarissa: Yes! So think about it, and come up with something for next time I ask. Got it?
Felius: ...
Clarissa: Now, let's go find Levin and Ragnar! I know what I want to do, and it's not gonna get done if we keep hanging around here!
[She runs off and he follows her. The screen turns black.]
Felius: I must not want nor desire anything here. I'm the one who is not supposed to even be here...
[An illustration shows a high-tech vessel. Some trails of smoke are coming from it.]
-Interdimensional Space-
[The screen shakes briefly. Inside the ship, a man in strange clothing and red hair stands before Felius in equally different clothing, and a blonde woman holding Iskender Bey. The man has a sword resting against his shoulder and Felius is holding up a knife.]
Kressen: Looks like the generator failures are only getting worse. Not even the Lombardia can survive much more of this.
Felius: Why did you betray us, Kressen?!
Felius: You fought side-by-side with us against Belia Lugos before! Why turn against us now?
Yulia: ...
Kressen: I was seduced. Seduced by the power of Belia Lugos, the Lord of Darkness himself!
Kressen: True power... So much of it, and so sweet...
When faced with that much raw destructive power, one quickly realizes the futility and emptiness of everything else.
Kressen: I need that power. With the might of Belia Lugos at my disposal, I could reign over all of Elw Borea!
Felius: You think you can succeed the Lord of Darkness? You fool!
Yulia: ...
Kressen: Oh, Felius... To laugh away the Lord of Darkness... The only fool here is you.
Kressen: And what about you, Yulia?
Yulia: I...I...
Felius: Yulia! Don't let him confuse you! His words are sweet poison!
Yulia: Kressen... Felius... What should I do...?
Felius: Yulia!!
Kressen: Hah hah hah hah hah hah hah! The woman within you can't fully refuse me, hmm? You're such an imbecile, Yulia.
Kressen: But that's exactly why I love you. How I long to pluck you like a rose!
Yulia: --?!
[Felius rushes at Kressen. A slash motion flashes on the screen and Kressen quickly disarms him; his knife clatters on the ground and he backs up, wincing.]
Felius: Urgh...
Kressen: The mere pilot of the Lombardia, attempting to interfere with me? Are you so eager to die by my hand, then?
Felius: I will protect Yulia...
Kressen: Fwah hah hah hah hah hah! Is that right? You sure about that?
Yulia: Stop, Kressen! That's enough! And Felius...please...
[Felius turns to Yulia, shocked.]
Felius: Yulia...?! I...I just wanted to protect you...
[Kressen frowns.]
Kressen: Look at your weakness and despair, Felius. Never forget how it feels to be abased by true power!
[Kressen moves towards Felius and slashes at him. The screen turns black and the Felius of today stands in thought.]
Felius: ...
[The player regains control.]
(Shop)
Smiling Lady (Talk): All these berries you see in the shop are from our village's own orchard.
The rich sour-sweetness that fills your mouth on the first bite... You can't find flavor like that anywhere else in the world.
Only in Lefas Corner, where we're blessed by the sun's warm rays.
---
Farmer Returning from the Fields: You might not guess it from how I look, but I once saved the lives of Lady Alexia and Lady Katrina when they were young.
King Hrathnir himself personally thanked me for it! No one believes me when I say that I've met him, though...
---
Upset Young Man: Princess Katrina seems to have a bit of an immature air to her, don't you think?
But regardless, they say her powers as a princess medium far surpass anything ever seen in the past. So she's quite qualified to be Queen of Elensia.
Princess Katrina should be going through the Rite of Divine Coalescence pretty soon, huh. But don't you think it's hard to imagine her as the Queen?
(Synth. Shop)
Matthew the Forger: When someone hounds me over and over to do something, it really makes me not want to do it, you know? Just saying...
Anyway, welcome to my shop.
Matthew the Forger (Talk): Don't get me wrong, I do like working! It's just that I looove sleeping...
---
Matthew's Assistant: He might not look it, but you can really count on my boss. I guess if you know a useful trade, you can get by just about anywhere.
---
Troubled Villager: What bright and sunny faces you all have! I wish I could be that carefree... Master Matthew, please, fix our bridge!
(Shrine)
Shrine Priestess: The whole nation of Elesius believes in the Guardians, but the faith of the people is particularly strong in Lefas Corner.
Perhaps, instead of "faith", it would be better to call it "thanks".
In Lefas Corner, people understand that fertile lands and bountiful harvests also come to us only by the endless generosity of the Guardians.
He who gives prayers of thanks to the Guardians will receive their blessing... I believe this is the correct way to think of our relationship to the Guardians.
(Pub)
Bookworm Barkeep: Welcome. You seem to be doing a little better! How about I make you some fried noodles?
Bookworm Barkeep (Talk): My hobby is reading through the cornucopia of books and other documents that've been left in Lefas Corner.
There's no better way to whittle the day away than sipping a hot cup of tea while I flip through the pages of a good book!
[Upon speaking to either Ragnar or Levin, a scene starts. Clarissa looks down at the ground, now dressed in her first outfit with the jacket hat.]
Ragnar: ...Those clothes...
Clarissa: ...I'm sorry. I spent all that time deceiving you, and I haven't even apologized for it yet.
Levin: ...
Clarissa: So I wanted to ask for your forgiveness as my true self.
Clarissa: I'm so truly sorry! I know a simple apology is nowhere near enough to earn your forgiveness, but it's all that I can do right now.
[Ragnar smirks.]
Ragnar: Well, at the moment I'm more surprised than anything...
Ragnar: But in any case, I don't have any anger towards you or the things you did. So far as I'm concerned, there's nothing to forgive.
What are you wanting from us?
Clarissa: ...
[She looks up at them.]
Clarissa: Would you call me by my name?
Clarissa: As proof that you want me here... If it's all right for me to be here as me, then please...call me by my name.
Clarissa: Not as "Princess" or "Your Highness"...
Clarissa: I want you to call me Clarissa... Because my name has always been Clarissa Arwin.
Ragnar: ...
Levin: ...
Levin: You make it sound so easy...
[Clarissa hangs her head.]
Clarissa: ...
[Levin blushes.]
Levin: It's embarrassing...
[She looks up at him in surprise.]
Clarissa: Levin...
Levin: Don't get me wrong! I don't know what Ragnar's talking about, but I'm totally angry at you!
Levin: It was a real shock, you know...
Clarissa: I guess I can't blame you... I spent all that time pretending to be your princess, after all, when in reality she's probably--
Levin: That's not it!
Levin: ...
Levin: That's got nothing to do with it! What made me so upset was...
Levin: ...
Levin: I... The reason I fought so hard... It wasn't because you were the princess at all!
Levin: It was because you gave so much to protect the people of this country... Much more than me...
Levin: It's *because* you were you that I was able to give so much effort to help you.
Levin: but still, all this time you thought that it wasn't you who I was fighting for, but some "princess"...
Levin: That's more upsetting than anything else!
[Clarissa smiles sheepishly at him.]
Clarissa: I'm sorry Levin. But...it makes me so happy to hear that! It really does...
[Levin yells.]
Levin: Don't tell me that now! Argh! Stupid Clarissa! You can be so clueless!
Clarissa: --?!
Levin: ...
Clarissa: ...
[She pouts.]
Clarissa: I told you to call me by my name, but not so you could insult me with it! Take that back, Levin!
Levin: You wouldn't get angry if you didn't know it was true! You're stupid and clueless, and you can be a total pain sometimes!
So just...just do whatever the hell you want!
[Levin turns his back to her.]
Clarissa: Fine! I will!
[She turns as well, but eventually stops pouting.]
Clarissa: ...
Clarissa: What I want is...to go to the capital one more time. With all of you.
Clarissa: I want to rescue Labyrinthia. And I want to rescue Princess Katrina, too.
[She turns around.]
Clarissa: And this time, for sure... I want to save all of the people of Elesius.
Clarissa: That's what I want to do. And I want to ask you all... Will you help me again?
Clarissa: And this time I'm not asking as your princess... Just as Clarissa.
[Ragnar folds his arms with a smirk.]
Ragnar: Sheesh... You don,t need to make a big speech out of it.
Ragnar: Didn't Levin just say it? We weren't with you because of who you said you were. We were with you because of what you wanted to do.
[Levin turns around and puts his hands behind his head as he closes his eyes with a semi-pout.]
Levin: Don't make me say it over and over again! I told you, it's embarrassing.
Felius: it looks like we all want the same thing. So it seems there's only one thing to do--return to the capital.
[The guys all turn and start walking away. Clarissa smiles.]
Clarissa: Hey, guys...
[They stop and turn back to her. She smiles widely, and they all return her smile.]
Clarissa: Thank you!
[The player regains control.]
(Shop)
Smiling Lady: Hello! I'm ever-so-thankful to the Guardians for my health and high spirits, today and every day.
---
Farmer Returning from the Fields: It was a year ago when Princess Alexia passed away. Her carriage was buried in a terrible landslide, and they never found her body...
They used an empty casket for her funeral. No one saw her again after that tragic accident.
Maybe that's why there are so many people in the kingdom who believe Princess Alexia's still alive...
---
Upset Young Man: Ever since Elesius became a military state, a large number of abbeys run by the Royal Abbey have been built across the country.
The Royal Abbey supports the princess mediums, and its power in Elesius has become quite impressive.
I've heard that the grounds within the abbey are completely under their own jurisdiction, and that neither the Council of Elder Statesmen nor even the King himself is allowed free access there.
They say that long ago, the princesses used to live in the abbey until they were old enough to perform the Rite of Divine Coalescence.
Maybe that was how they kept the young girls from getting into trouble?
(Synth. Shop)
Matthew the Forger: Hello. Do you seriously want to forge a weapon? If you want it more than I want to sleep, then I might think about helping.
Matthew the Forger (Talk): Being lazy on cloudy days is necessary for the soul. Sleep is the first step towards tomorrow, you know!
---
Matthew's Assistant: Reverend Mother Edna of the Royal Abbey was born into the distinguished noble family of the Warrens.
I once saw a picture of her when she was younger, and I have to tell you, she was beautiful! You'd never imagine it from the way she looks now...
I hear that wherever she went, there were countless men trying to woo her. I guess an extravagant lifestyle can really change the way you look, huh?
---
Troubled Villager: If you wan to go to the capital from here, you'll have to go north through the valley, which will take you to a place called Circle Valley.
If you then follow the highway to the west, you'll eventually reach Elensia's east gate.
If only the bridge were fixed, you could get there in no time, but as it is...
(Pub)
Bookworm Barkeep: Ah, welcome. If I discover any interesting little nuggets in the books I'm reading, I'll let you know. You can have that to look forward to.
---
Olaus the Drifter: The last country that engaged Elesius in war was the nation of Glasscap, across the ocean.
Elesius set Glasscap's lands on fire, burning their crops and towns to the ground.
Elesius even brutally executed their head of state in front of their people... They say that the horrible war left an uncountable number of refugees homeless.
I hear that Glasscap's survivors still harbor a grudge against the kingdom of Elesius, even twenty years after the fact.
(Shrine)
Shrine Priestess: Things changed with the reforms of His Majesty King Hrathnir, but up until twenty years ago, the country's central ruling power was Her Majesty the Queen, Medium of the Guardians.
At that time, the Royal Abbey, which directly supported the Queen and presided over all rites and ceremonies, possessed a strong authority, even within the Council of Elder Statesmen.
For centuries, the Royal Abbey was responsible for the upbringing of the nation's princesses, but King Hrathnir decided to bring up Lady Alexia and Lady Katrina with the same education as that of the common people.
Reverend Mother Edna of the abbey lost a lot of face with that decision. Ever since that, she seemed to hold a very strong grudge against the King.
[Upon leaving Lefas Corner, Twilight Valley is now marked with a red !. The party arrives on a smaller chunk of cliffs on the opposite side of the first map.]
Clarissa: All right, let's get moving!
[As Clarissa turns, a bunch of masked men appear on the cliff.]
Felius: More masked fighters!
[One of them gestures forward and a large number of Fairylights spawn around the party.]
Levin: Whoa whoa whoa... Why'd they have to throw all these monsters into this tiny space? We don't have time for this!
Ragnar: We're in a bad position here...but the only way through is to take them down as quickly as we can.
Clarissa: Be careful with your attacks! Don't hit anyone on our side!
=D.E.R.=

Clarissa: ...
[When half the enemies have been defeated...]
-Reinforcements appeared!-
[The battle ends when all enemies have been defeated.]
-Elesius Castle: Dungeons-
[Labyrinthia hangs her head.]
Labyrinthia: The sealing spells they've cast on this cell are quite powerful... There's no way I'll be able to cast magic in here. I guess I can't say I'm surprised...
[She looks up.]
Labyrinthia: But I can't just sit in this cell and stare at the floor all day. His Majesty would be so disappointed in me.
Labyrinthia: What should I do? What can I do? If only I had so much as a spoon in here with me...
[She frowns.]
Labyrinthia: --!
[Katrina enters.]
Katrina: Ms. Wordsworth...
Labyrinthia: Princess Katrina?!
Katrina: I'm going to open the door now. Please wait a moment.
[Katrina unlocks the door and opens the cell. Labyrinthia steps out, pleasantly surprised.]
Labyrinthia: Your Highness!
Katrina: Let's escape from here, Ms. Wordsworth.
Katrina: I heard that Alexia is back! I want to go and see her.
Labyrinthia: (Huh? Have they told Princess Katrina nothing of what's happened?)
Katrina: Hurry, Ms. Wordsworth!
Labyrinthia: Y...yes, of course! Let's get out of here!
[The turn and run. A pair of guardsmen Sentinels meet in the halls.]
Martial Guardsman #1: Have you found the prisoner who escaped from the underground cell?
Martial Guardsman #2: Not yet! But there are two sets of wet footprints, leading this way. Be careful--they're obviously not alone!
Martial Guardsman #1: Could it be another one of her terrorist cronies?! Better be careful!
[They turn and continue their search. Katrina stands directly behind Labyrinthia.]
Labyrinthia: For a 34-year old, I certainly am a klutz... They caught on sooner than I expected.
Labyrinthia: Princess Katrina, aren't you frightened?
Katrina: ...
[Labyrinthia hangs her head.]
Labyrinthia: I'm sorry... I spoke without thinking.
[Katrina smiles softly.]
Katrina: You don't need to apologize, Ms. Wordsworth. I may not understand fear, but I do understand that you are concerned for me...
Martial Guardsman: I see 'em! Over there!
Labyrinthia: Your Highness! Let's run!
-Elesius Castle: Courtyard-
[They make it outside, but they stop when Rupert and Eisen show up.]
Rupert: Well, look what I found scurrying around in the darkness! That was quite a chase you led us on, but it looks like this is it for you.
Rupert: Well, Cap'n Beard-Rat, this looks like a fine opportunity to restore your tarnished name.
Rupert: A beloved icon of Elesius being led away by a known criminal... Howsabout you executin' this rebel right here on the spot?
Royal Knights Captain Eisen: ...
Rupert: Unless...there's some reason you can't...?
Royal Knights Captain Eisen: ...
Labyrinthia: ...
Katrina: Ms. Wordsworth... They won't hurt me, so please escape while you can.
Labyrinthia: What are you saying, Your Highness?!
Katrina: Surely you can cast Warp from here? The only reason you haven't is so we could stay together...
Labyrinthia: Princess Katrina!
Katrina: I may be unfit to rule, but the Council still needs me.
Katrina: I don't think they would hurt me. So go, Ms. Wordsworth. Please Warp away.
Labyrinthia: ...Princess...
Katrina: But before you do, could you take this for me?
[Katrina hands her an ARM.]
Labyrinthia: What's this?
Katrina: It's Alexia's ARM. It was given to me as a keepsake.
Katrina: Please go, Ms. Wordsworth. And give my sister this ARM!
[She looks down.]
Labyrinthia: I failed to protect His Majesty... Can't I at least protect you?
Katrina: It is not the royal family that you're supposed to protect. It is our people, and our future... It is our cherished ideals that you must defend.
Katrina: Father's life may have ended, but his ideals endure.
Katrina: They live on in your heart, as they live on in mine.
Labyrinthia: They live on in our hearts...
Katrina: So long as those ideals endure, Father can never truly die. So I beg you, Ms. Wordsworth...!
Labyrinthia: If I give up now, it would only further dim His Majesty's dream...!
Rupert: Hey, what are you two muttering about?
[Labyrinthia turns to Rupert, who grins widely.]
Rupert: If Cap'n Beard-Rat can't kill you, I'll just have to take that prize for myself!
[A slash motion flashes on the screen and a cut-in shows a tear in Eisen's cape, cutting through his clothes and reaching his armor.]
Royal Knights Captain Eisen: Urgh!
Labyrinthia: --!
Labyrinthia: ...
Katrina: Eisen!
Labyrinthia: Princess Katrina, Captain Eisen... Forgive me for leaving you like this!
[Labyrinthia warps away.]
Rupert: Have you gone mad, old man?
Royal Knights Captain Eisen: Nrgh...
Royal Knights Captain Eisen: You're the one who's gone mad! Swinging your sword like that... You could have hit Princess Katrina...!
Rupert: --Hmph!
Katrina: Eisen... You did that for me? Please...don't die!
Royal Knights Captain Eisen: To tell the truth... I was prepared to die...
Royal Knights Captain Eisen: But...I was saved by your words, Princess Katrina.
Royal Knights Captain Eisen: His Majesty's ideals endure... It's true. That flame burns in my heart as well! I cannot give up now...!
Rupert: Aww, how touching. Well, that rebel's long gone... I'm goin' home!
[Rupert leaves. Katrina hangs her head.]
Katrina: Ms. Wordsworth... Take care of Alexia for me...
