Doing shows is great. But when you audition for a show and you know you can't make rehearsals, because of other commitments...well, all that does is piss off the director and starts to make youself a bad reputation. I've known many actors who have done that, and when it came time for them that they really wanted to do a particular show, or play a particular role they have wanted to do and are now commitment free....well, the directors, producers and others do remember from past experience and will in no doubt not cast you, even if you are a number one singer / actor. A good work ethic, qua;ity work and devotion to the craft is what makes great actors who make it to Broadway. Bad reps get you no where. Just Friendly Advice
and who is this? When we auditioned, we didn't know what the rehearsal schedule was going to be like. We didn't know until after we had handed in our resumes and were about to sing.. Then the director stopped and told us about the rehearsal schedule. After he told us, we agreed that it would be impossible, thanked them for their time, and left.
