i liked the golden girls! you just need to give it a chance. the st. olaf stories are uplifting and the stan sbornack stories will make you think twice about rekindling your old flame.
my main problem with them is that people buy their season 1 & 2 dvds. turn on lifetime any day of the week and you will see the entire season in one day. as far as i'm concerned, if you dont know who they had as the gay cook on episode one, you dont deserve to own the dvd set.
I've given them the chance and I still just can't get into the show. I do agree with you about the boxed sets though. It's like buying Full House or Friends on DVD. Within the span of a couple of hours you can see all the episodes with out spending $30.

it's a shame that coco, the gay cook, was dropped so quickly.
the nanny isn't that bad. but i just think of it as an interlude between episodes of the golden girls.
