I love this! The tech talk kind of goes over my head, but it's still in character. And Byakuran ruining the moment.

Poor, poor Spanner. I love the communication comments in the brackets. They added that little extra to the story.

You write Spanner so, so well. (And also BS the engineering dorkery brilliantly.) I love the idea of him feeling a touch betrayed by Shouichi becoming Byakuran's, and you conveyed very well that it's not just about ex-lover jealousy but Shouichi's abandonment of the world they both used to live in entirely. <33333

He hangs up the phone, and rolls himself back up in the covers on the cold floor with the pillow over his head to drown out the world of flowers and flesh, a world seemingly much more important than that of cold, practical mechanics and science and the thrill of created matter that Shouichi's left behind to Spanner alone.
This sentence is brilliant. The double meaning of the last two words... really, this would have been a great conclusion by itself.

The longer sentences got a touch confusing at times, but overall I think the effect was worth it. (Can you tell I'm trying very hard to find useful criticism and not just squee?)

Thanks for the warning on long sentences; that's also something arisuesei tipped me off about in something else (though it is generally something I do for effect. Also I appreciate your effort and come back to school soooooooooon)
