Looking for advice!

So I've got a summer job offer from Glimmerglass Opera, in upstate New York... Connecticut pretty much sucks for summer theatre and there are no places I could get that I could drive to every day. Glimmerglass is offering me $326/week and housing. I'd pretty much have to take the housing because it would be a 4 hour drive each way. It's a staff

I think you should absolutely do it! I mean, I understand why Rick doesn't want you to, but I think it's sounds like it'd be good for you.

My dad travels four days a week for work, so my parents only get to see each other three days a week, and they're just fine.

Cooperstown is also a ~4 hour drive from Buffalo, so if Leslie were to fly up here during that period, we could road trip down to visit you.
