i woke up crying at the thought of obama being elected. a happy sort of crying, but also such a deep sadness for the last eight years, for a stretch of time awful enough to make me this invested in this person and this system which are both so flawed. this has to end. it has to. obama has to win and he has to be an improvement

i recommend boogeyman: the lee atwater story for a good film that addresses the representation of southern republicans (and especially the bush family) as slow, stupid, and accidental. and for other reasons.
