Maybe it's just me, but I was rather surprised when we finally met Pa Karafsky and he was not the knuckle dragging, bullying, evil homophobe I'd pictured in my head and was instead just...a middle management type in a tweed jacket who was utterly bewildered by the angry stranger his son was turning into ( ... )

just commenting to say that this kind of casual intolerance from my own dad or from a few of my other family members is partially why i haven't come out to my family yet even though with my friends i'm out and have been for years. having that uncertainty is horrible to constantly have to deal with

I know exactly what you mean. I was talking to my Uncle and the minute I mentioned the whole Kurt/Blaine relationship he left the room and my Aunt made some comments about how digesting it would be if she had to kiss a girl. So much for that... Oh well, it's not like I see them much, and most of my friends have no problem. A lot of people like to claim they have no problem with it. But their actions prove he words wrong. I'm still confused but I never have anyone who I can talk to about it, so I just try to work it out on my own... It's not going very well.

Now, about the prompt. I would love to see this filled, I think it would be awesome.
