Hudmels AU - Trigger: Illness

Kid!Finn is positive older brother Kurt is a super hero. Kurt's clothes sometimes remind him of a hero costume. So when Kurt gets sick and is too weak to even get out of bed some days, Finn doesn't understand. Superheroes don't get sick.

Finn was a simple child, easily amused and often happy to just be at home with his family. At three years old, he was shy and didn’t like to be away from his parents or his brother for long. His mom was always home with him and Finn would follow her around the house as she cleaned and cooked, dragging the Transformers blanket his dad had given him for Christmas behind him. Sometimes if his mom was busy, his dad would take him to the garage. Finn thought the garage was the most amazing place he’d ever seen. There were car parts spread out everywhere and to his three-year-old brain, it made the garage look like a Transformers battle ground

Finn ate the pancakes his mom placed in front of him, then ate the second helping she gave him. He had to wait until one of his parents were finished so they would unbuckle him from his booster seat, and once his dad set him down, Finn tried to take off into the living room to see his brother

Today turned into a week and Finn was confused. Kurt was asleep almost all the time and he didn’t eat at the table with them anymore. If Kurt was awake they all ate in the living room and his mom didn’t even get mad when Finn dropped his mashed potatoes on the carpet. It would have been so cool if Kurt wasn’t so sick

Well "normal" sick wouldn't be very angsty lol.

Kurt was asleep again when the doorbell rang. Finn was supposed to be taking his afternoon nap while his mom was getting food ready for supper but he couldn’t fall asleep. He’d had a bad dream last night where Kurt never woke up and he ended up crying himself back to sleep in his mom’s arms. He’d woken up in between his mom and dad in their bed and even though he knew he wasn’t supposed to be awake yet because the alarm didn’t go off, he’d crawled off the bed and went to check on Kurt

Finn was excited because Kurt was happy, and Kurt was happy because he was going back to school tomorrow. He loved spending time with his brother but Kurt was so sad and tired all the time and that made Finn sad
