Blaine angst, racial identity. Trigger: possible racism

I want to see a fic dealing with Blaine's racial identity. Maybe Blaine passes better than his siblings do? Maybe Blaine has a relative on the white side of his family who's racist and looks down on him? Maybe when Blaine was a kid people thought his mom was his nanny? I'd love a fic in which the Hudmels don't even realize Blaine is mixed-race until somebody makes a comment about something and Blaine snaps back or something.
Basically, I just want lots of fic involving Blaine's emotional reactions to being mixed race but passing as white.

i could easily see mr shue saying something insensitive or talking about asian culture or something and including mike and tina in it, and then kurt's like "what about blaine?" and shue is "what do you mean what about blaine?" because he obviously wouldn't even think blaine would be asian. i could see finn doing the same thing. maybe an assignment could be involved to include more of new directions and their thoughts/issues about it. you know shue could have some ridiculously offensive assignment. that could start off this whole angsty issue for blaine and other new directions members
(op, i'm really not trying to hijack your prompt....my brain just started forming ideas for yours, and i started throwing them out there to potential fillers b/c i know i wouldn't be able to really do this justice, and i'd really like to see it filled.)

Okay, so, I was reading this comment, and I started thinking about this. What if instead of a ballad like season one or an anthem like season 2, in season 3 they had to perform a "funny" song as one of their songs? Will decides to let the kids break up into groups and audition with a song to see which one's the best, so Tina, Mike and Blaine perform "Nobody's Asian in the Movies" from Commentary the Musicial.
Maybe Mr. Schue or Brittany or somebody could show confusion over why Blaine was in the group, or tell Blaine that he "did a good job of pretending to be Asian." Or something like that.
This song has been in my head for several days now, lol.

Or I suppose they could do it for "social or political commentary" because not everyone agrees that this song is funny, lol. It's a sort of tongue-in-cheek humor. I love it.

ooh i like this idea. i've never heard this song before; it'd definitely get a discussion started and could provide even more angst if someone disregards it for blaine because he's "passing"

yeah that fic is really good. i read it a few months ago.....it's a lot more about blaine's mom and family than the perception of blaine w/ the people at mckinley and the hudmels

I wrote a story like this in response to this prompt, but it was a little different. This story is from Blaine's mother's point of view; and discusses the experience of Blaine's parents in having a mixed-race child that looks like his white parent. I thought I would post it here just in case: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7726440/1/

A/N: Not sure if this is what you were looking for but here you go.....
The Andersons were not a wealthy family. A very generous scholarship from Dalton had allowed him to attend for the previous two years. However, his dad’s promotion at work had made him ineligible for the need-based financial aid but the raise was not enough to cover the $25,000 tuition. Transferring to McKinley had relieved much of the financial burden. Nevertheless, the Andersons would not be able to afford to send Blaine an out of state or private university without financial assistance.
Not discouraged, Blaine scoured the internet, creating an extensive list of potential scholarships and grants for which he could apply. Most promising was the Asian and Pacific Islander American Youth Heritage Foundation Scholarship, an $80,000 scholarship. When he sent out his application packet in October, he was pretty confident in his chances. He had a great essay, high GPA, and stellar letters of recommendation

Wiping his eyes, Blaine tried not to break down. It wasn’t the first time he was told he wasn’t Asian enough. At Dalton, he had been refused membership to the Asian Student Association his freshmen year on the grounds of being too white. While filling out the Common App with Tina, she had blown up at him for declaring his ethnicity Asian.
“Blaine, honey, is everything alright?” Lea Anderson walked over to her son, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. Wordlessly, he handed his mother the letter and watched her facial expression fall.
“Oh, Blaine, she said, wrapping her arms around him. With that the flood gates opened and Blaine couldn’t stop crying.
“I h-hate this, Nanay,” he sobbed into her shoulder.
Lea continued to console her son, whispering softly in his ear. “Ssshh, mahal, it’s okay, it’s okay

I'm mixed race as well and it can be tough when people say things that aren't meant to be hurtful but are.

This was a good and realistic story, but I still want an actual fill. *sigh*
